Writing Is My Offering There's several reasons this space has been silent this summer. For starters, I wanted the summer to be about making memories with Jackson. I wanted to fill each day with activities, giggles and good times. But aside from being intentional with my son, I knew there was another reason I needed to pull back. I realized more and more that my worth was getting too wrapped up in the words I write. I had to step back and remember that God doesn't love me for the number Continue Reading
Seven Things I Learned In July
Fourth of July Is A Favorite I have wonderful childhood memories of the Fourth of July and I keep adding to them the older I get. The one day celebration, smack dab in the heat of summer, has become a holiday I look forward to. I think it's because it's so low-key. There's not the stress that comes with Thanksgiving and Christmas. We grill some hotdogs, invite friends over, spread a blanket in the front yard and watch an amazing firework show. From that day on he could say every single one of his colors. He was super excited to receive a trophy Continue Reading
Seven Things I Learned In April
1. All about AAC, ABA and IEP A few years ago I had no idea what these acronyms stood for, but then I became the mama of a kiddo with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Sensory Processing Disorder. This month I've learned all about Individualized Education Plans, Applied Behavior Analysis and Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices. The special needs journey is all about educating myself so that I can be the best advocate for Jackson. 2. My Favorite Etsy Shop has Speech Therapy Continue Reading
