Last night I finished "Grace for the Good Girl" by Emily Freeman. It was a great book and I gleaned a lot of truth from it! I sense some future blog posts based on truths I learned while reading the book. Today I want to share what spoke to my heart as I finished the book last night. "One practical way to set our minds when it all goes wrong is to practice receiving truth in small ways when things go right." Last night I needed this reminder. I was feeling overwhelmed, tired, Continue Reading
I Met Tom Davis….
When I signed up to attend SheSpeaks there was one session that I just HAD to attend. I was fortunate enough to get into Writing Out of Your Passion with Tom Davis. If you don't know who Tom Davis is, well you should! (Really...he's an amazing writer!) Tom Davis is the CEO of Children's Hope Chest and is passionate about orphan care and adoption. He has written many books about his passion, and they are all amazing reads. (May I suggest that you read his novel "Scared") I went to the Continue Reading
Record Breaking Temperatures
We are in the middle of a major heat wave here in Oklahoma! Yesterday the temps reached 113 degrees and set a record for the hottest day since 1936! We're staying cool as best we can..... We're taking naps in the cool AC - although our AC went out this week and that was pretty brutal! Thank goodness Continue Reading
A Lens of Compassion

I remember being so touched by her story. I even sent her a Facebook message when John and I felt like we were being called to adopt from Ethiopia. Another SheSpeaks highlight was getting the opportunity to hear Renee Swope share her adoption story and getting to see her beautiful Ethiopian daughter. I knew Renee was going Continue Reading
Fellow Bloggers and Friends
One of the most rewarding parts of SheSpeaks was meeting these amazing ladies! Kayse and I met on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and Jen and I met later that day. We immediately clicked and began to share our love for Jesus, writing, blogging, and our dreams of publishing a book. We are all mommies to young kiddos and were a little unsure of what to do with ourselves so many miles away from the dirty bottles and laundry. Today I want to introduce you to these amazing girls!
