Today I have already made several really good decisions. 1. I walked 2 miles pushing Jackson in his stroller. 2. I ordered a medium Dr Pepper at Sonic instead of a large. 3. I decided to finally face something head on and blog about it each week as part of a healing process. You see, there's more to my story than just infertility and adoption. Two years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - and it has wreaked havoc on my life. I've gained 20 pounds, I Continue Reading
A Sweet Sunday Treat…
On Saturday my friend Emily came over and we had girls' night. By girls night, I mean we ate cookies, looked through photo albums, and talked until midnight. It was much needed. She is the mommy to Jackson's friend Harmonee who is just 5 days older than he is! I thought I would share the cookie recipe I made. It was the first time I tried the recipe and they were divine! Five Minute Friday – Graceful
Graceful: Having or showing grace or elegance. Do I extend grace enough? Hebrews 12:15 says, "See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." Too often I think I miss out on extending grace, allowing others to see God through me, because I am hurt or bitter over a situation. The ABC’s of Me
I decided I needed to do something fun on the blog today, so I stole this cute idea from Melanie, who found it on Beth Moore's blog. I love stuff like this! It just makes me happy! A. Age: 30 … my husband freaked out when he turned 30! I embraced it. The way I see it, you have two choices. If you aren't getting older, you're dead. :) B. Bed size: A big, ol' king! When I am home alone I love sleeping smack dab in the middle! C. Chore that you hate: Washing dishes. Yuck! I am the messiest Continue Reading
A Confident Heart – Chapter 1
"So do not throw away your confidence. It will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised." (Hebrews 10:35-36) Welcome to our first week of blog Bible study! I'm really excited to dig into Renee Swopes book, "A Confident Heart". Right off the bat, she was speaking to my not-so-confident heart. Can anyone relate? "I mean, if God calls you to do something, shouldn't you feel confident about it?", Renee writes within Continue Reading
