Confession time: I've been putting off writing this post ,but I'm going to blame my delay on having to take care of a sick baby for the past three days, which makes blogging impossible. :) Since I last updated you all on my PCOS journey, I have been to the doctor, had blood work done, and received very surprising news. A few weeks ago, my doctor ordered blood work to check all of my hormone levels. It had been several years since we had checked them and she wanted to see what was going Continue Reading
11 Months
We are one, very, short month away from celebrating Jackson's 1st Birthday! I can't even believe it! I love watching Jackson learn new things. There's so many facial expressions and things he's doing that I never want to forget. He's had a pretty rough week. He came down with a visus and ran fever for three days and has just felt miserable. On top of that, he's trying to get several teeth. It's been a rough (sleepless) few nights/days for Jackson and his parents :) Our photo session Continue Reading
Until We All Come Home
I was so excited when I saw the brown package on my front porch! I couldn't wait for Jackson to take a nap so I could curl up on the couch to read Kim De Blecourt's book, "Until We All Come Home". ****you can buy your copy here. Hurry. You. Must. Read. This. Book.**** When Kim asked if anyone was interested in reading the book and writing a review on their blog, I knew I had to. The book is about adoption. It's about orphan care. It's about how God moved mountains for one small boy in the Continue Reading
Orphan Sunday 2012
Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking about our adoption and orphan care at my parent's church in Texas. I am so glad God allowed me to share our story! Overall, I think it went really well. I know that seeds were planted and eyes were opened to the orphan crisis all over the world. I was a little bummed that we didn't have more people sponosor children through Compassion International, but the ones that were sponosored means there are less children needing sponsors. During the Continue Reading
Orphan Sunday Guest Post – Brown Paper and Strings
I am so excited to have Jamie guest posting today and sharing her heart for orphans. I know you are going to be so blessed.... I met Jennifer at She Speaks this year. And it was at She Speaks that I brought a book proposal on orphans and God's adoption. Every time I try to figure out where to begin my story, I fail miserably. I feel like I've told my story a million times, and it seems so small and trivial, and yet this is the year God's had me in the midst of a major re-write. He's editing Continue Reading
