Summer is winding down and I'll soon be trading beach reads for Fall thrillers and my absolute favorite books - cute, holiday rom-coms! Confession...I didn't make it through the stack of books I planned to read this summer because well... I bought other books that I wanted to read more. That's the story of my life! I just keep adding to my TBR pile. Regardless, I still read a lot of great books this summer. Here's a recap of the six books I finished in August. Summer Hours by Continue Reading
Four Things I Want to Do Before My 40th Birthday
I'll be celebrating my 35th birthday in just a few days. I'm not one of those people who freaks out about getting older (unlike my husband). I have a theory - if you're not getting older; you're dead. Honestly, I don't feel 35. I wish I was still skinny like my 18-year-old self. Maybe in the next five years, I'll accept the fact that God gave me hips. Five Favorite Things From 2016
Each year I host a Favorite Things party in celebration of my birthday. I also host a virtual party and send a box of fun stuff to one lucky reader! It's seriously the most fun! When my friend Kayse shared her favorite things from 2016 on her blog, I knew I had to do the same! It took a while to narrow down my list, Continue Reading
Every Photo Has a Story {Taking My Love for Photography to the Next Level}
I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. When I was six, I was given a pink camera that required 110 film for Christmas. I took a lot of blurry, random photos with that camera. My love for pictures followed me into my teen years and led to a job at Eckerd Photo Lab. My love of photography remains a huge part of who I am today. Scrapbooks line my closet shelves. Each photo tucked inside tells a story. Telling stories through photos and words; that Continue Reading
Seven Things I Learned in September
What a 5.6 Magnitude Earthquake Feels Like Earlier this month we woke up to some major shaking on a Saturday morning. We often feel earthquakes in Oklahoma, but this was by far the strongest and longest one we've experienced. It also happens to be the largest one ever recorded in Oklahoma, measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale and Jackson slept through the whole thing. 2. We Were the Top Fundraising Team at the OKC Apraxia Walk This year we raised $1045! The money will be used to fund Continue Reading
