I'm Not a Fan of Frozen Meals I've never been one to prepare a bunch of freezer meals to make dinner time easier. Why? Because they never taste good to me once I cook them. Recently we bought some frozen meals from a place in my hometown. It's a great place, with great food, but I could only eat the meatloaf. The two casseroles were disgusting! The texture about did me in. I was reminded once again why I don't do freezer meals. YUCK!!!! It's Okay If We Have to Leave the Party We attempted to Continue Reading
My Top Three Posts of 2017
Well here they are - the words I wrote that were read the most this year - and they all happen to be about being a special needs mama! Writing about our special needs journey keeps me sane. It helps me process the hard stuff and cherish the good stuff. I don't have thousands of people reading this little blog, but if I can encourage just one mama in the midst of her mess than I have succeeded! On Your Sixth Birthday {Your Story Matters}
Every year around Jackson's birthday, I write a blog post commemorating the event. I also write him a letter and stick it in a special birthday book. I will give him the book on his 18th birthday. Each year I find myself flipping to the same books of the Bible to read about the events leading up to our Saviors birth. The stories aren't new. The same scriptures appear in my devotionals each year. I am very familiar with the promises of God and how the story of Christmas unfolded. So why do I keep reading them over and over and over? Because the story matters. Because God can use the Continue Reading
The Day I Went to Kindergarten {And What It Taught Me}
I went to Kindergarten last week. When I went to drop Jackson off at school on Wednesday he wouldn't let go of my hand. He was anxious and unsure. There have been a lot of changes in his schedule lately as we try to find the best fit for him. He's been back and forth between classrooms and all the uncertainty seemed to have caught up to him. So I walked him down the hall and explained we were going to the big kindergarten class. When we entered the classroom he still wouldn't let go of my Continue Reading
