Will School Always Be Hard It's January, and we're already thinking about kindergarten. We met with Jackson's teacher a few weeks ago and she said Jackson is academically ready to advance to the next grade. Although I was thrilled to hear how well he was doing academically, I had to be realistic. To stick him in a classroom with 20 to 25 students is just not what's best for him. He struggles in a class of fifteen. So we find ourselves at a crossroads again. We're exploring all our options - Continue Reading
Top Posts of 2016
Writing about special needs parenting became a priority this year. I wrote many posts about Apraxia, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD. I wrote about the challenges we face and the victories we celebrate. Fifth Birthdays We celebrated with family and friends last weekend with a Continue Reading
New Traditions and Lowering My Expectations {A Weekend Recap of Holiday Fun}
This weekend we attended a birthday party and started several new Christmas traditions. It was fun, but stressful. Between the events and the weather, Jackson was completely out of sorts. Saturday night he buried himself under these pillows for a little chill time. I probably needed to bury myself under some pillows, too. While the weekend was fun, it was also a reminder that birthday parties and other fun events are often more stressful for our family than fun. This weekend I pouted Continue Reading
