My summer reading is off to a great start. This is the colorful stack I hope to finish by the end of August (plus a few books on my Kindle). I also can't forget the new Elin Hilderbrand novel. Is it even summer without her newest release? This month I read more Young Adult books than I normally read, but I enjoyed each one. I also read a creepy thriller that I probably wouldn't have chosen had it not been our bookclub pick for the month. Here's the books I read in June... The Peach Continue Reading

We've settled into our new home in Michigan and one of the things I'm most excited about is the independent bookstore in my new town. Of course I took a break from unpacking the first week we were here to check it out. I ordered a few books on my TBR list and I bought myself this cute tote bag. This month I officially quit not one, but two books! The first books I've quit all year. People on social media rave about The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I just couldn't finish it. Somehow between all the shuffling around this month - living in Missouri for a week, staying at a friend's lake cottage for eleven days and finally closing on our new home in Michigan - I still managed to read quite a few books. Actually, books probably saved my sanity during this crazy transition period. Last year I chose Trish Doller's book Float Plan as one of my top reads for 2021. I've spent most of the month living at my parent's house in Texas as we transition from Oklahoma to Michigan. I've had a lot of time to read. I've been enjoying my own books and also reading out loud to Jackson a lot. My mom called me a Book Nerd - what a compliment. ;-) Here's what I read this month... One Night Only by Catherine Walsh I saw this book on Instagram and it looked like a cute rom-com. Sarah is known for one-night stands. She doesn't do serious. After waking up to an Continue Reading

Before I share the books I read this month, I have to tell you about the best ever birthday present I received from my friend Emily! She gave me this fabulous reading journal to keep track of the books I read. I absolutely love it! I'm not normally someone who marks up my fiction books, but lately I've found myself underlining quotes. I love that I can add those quotes to this journal. So much fun! If you want to add a little fun to your reading, grab a copy of the journal Continue Reading
