With two hours and 45 minutes to spare, I met my 2022 reading goal! 75 books complete! The last week of December I finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt I didn't think I would enjoy a book where one of the main characters is an octopus. It's not a book I would typically choose, but it was such a popular pick in this year. This is a beautiful story about unexpected friendships and healing. I loved Marcellus (the Octopus)! I am so glad I gave this book a Continue Reading

I'm sharing my December reads early because I've decided to take a little reading break from now until the new year. That doesn't mean I won't read, but I'm not going to stress out about finishing a certain number of books before December 31st. Here's the deal - I love to read. I love books - but this year I found myself rushing through a good story just to mark another book off my list. Reading became a chore instead of an escape from the stress of everyday life. My family started the month with Covid. Somehow we escaped the nasty virus for almost three years, but then it caught up to us. Let's just say Covid stinks! I am 100% blaming Covid if I don't meet my 2022 reading goal. I was so tired I couldn't hold a book, much less focus on the words on the page. Being sick cost me some good reading days. Now that we're better, I'm reading all the holiday romcoms! Here's what I read in November... Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah Leila receives a Continue Reading

It's the time of year when I binge read as many seasonal rom-coms as I possibly can. I just can't resist a good Hallmark-like story and the cute seasonal covers. Yes, the stories are all very similar. Yes, the characters live happily ever after. But these books make me happy. This month I read Autumn Sky by Jenna Starly, Pumpkin Spice & Not So Nice by Becky Monson, A Pumpkin and a Patch by Jennifer Peel and Falling Inn Love by Erin Branscom. Quick, cute reads to cuddle up with on a Continue Reading

If you ask me what the perfect reading day looks like, I would say the one I had this month! It was the first time it officially felt like Fall in Michigan. I had the house to myself. I had my windows open. I had pumpkin candles burning. I was reading the best book and texting about it with a friend. *Sigh* Perfection!!!! If I'm not reading a book at the beach, I want to be reading a book on a Fall day with pumpkin candles burning. Here's the five books I read in Continue Reading
