I did not have a very successful reading month. I guess two books is better than none, but I'm a little bummed I didn't finish more. My to-read pile continues to grow, but unfortunately I can't add hours to the day. *sigh* My reading list looks a little blah, unless you include all the books I read to Jackson, which makes it look much more impressive. I lost count of how many Henry & Mudge books we read together. It's the cutest series about a boy and his dog and it's currently Jackson's Continue Reading
My First Strewing Experience
I had never heard of strewing until I started reading The Brave Learner by Julie Bogart. (The book is incredible, by the way! I plan to do an entire post devoted to it really soon.) Strewing is a thing in the homeschool world, but I tried it for the first time yesterday. The idea is to leave an activity, any kind really, out on the table for your child to discover on their own. What I Love About Him {Choosing To Focus on His Gifts}

I have a hard time finding my groove at the first of the year. Most people love a fresh start, but to be honest, January 1st just stresses me out. I feel like I have to do all. the. things. Make all the goals. Why can't I just keep doing what I've been doing? Why the need to change everything when the calendar flips to a new year? It was a few days into the new year when I finally decided on a few things to focus on and said forget the rest! Getting back to my blog was definitely one of Continue Reading
The Homeschool Book That’s Rocking My World…
A few weeks ago I was chatting with a fellow homeschool mom as we took a nature walk with our sons. We talked about curriculums and why we chose to homeschool. We discussed how difficult it is to find your groove when you begin homeschooling. We both admitted we were still searching for groups to join; it can be hard to find your people when you homeschool. My new friend suggested I read a book called, Teaching From Rest. I realized the book had been sitting in the drawer of my nightstand for Continue Reading
