We've been talking about this day for months; you've daily asked if it was time to go to kindergarten. Each time we drive by your new school you exclaim, Jackson's Kindergarten! and often follow up with a fist pump for emphasis. You're so excited and I hope nothing snuffs that out. Your Lightening McQueen backpack and matching lunchbox are ready. You've met your teacher and checked out your classroom. Today I will walk you in and although I'm excited for you, I'm also a little Continue Reading
When God Shifts Your Dreams {God Sized Dreams}
I have a confession to make. It was really hard to write this month's post for the God Sized Dreams blog. I had months to write it; but life has been busy and writing hasn't been a priority. I had to pray for the words and motivation to get it done on deadline. You see, God's been shifting my dreams. I’ve sadly wasted too much time thinking my identity and worth were wrapped up in my writing. In three days, Jackson will start kindergarten. As I reflect on the past five years, I realize I Continue Reading
Feeling Hopeful About Kindergarten
He's been asking to go to Kindergarten all summer. We've visited his school and met his teacher. We are now eight days from the first day of school. He's pumped and I'm a big bag of mixed feelings. Eight Things I Learned In July
I haven't published a blog post in a month! Writing has sort of taken a backseat this summer. Jackson and I are soaking in the last of these summer days and I'm trying to come to terms with the fact he's about to start Kindergarten. Where in the world did the past five years go? I feel like there will be plenty of time for writing when he's in school full-time. Right now we are going to the pool, stopping at Classic 50's for Happy Hour and taking too many trips to the toy store. July was a Continue Reading
Ten Things I Learned In June
Chigger Bites Bite There's an empty field next to our house that makes a perfect photo spot when the sun is setting. I decided to take some Fourth of July photos of Jackson and Autry when she visited earlier this month. Yep, we got some great photos; but Jackson and I also got chigger bites. Holy moly they were miserable! I've Been Mad at God As difficult as it was to write this post, it was also very freeing. I've been surprised by my anger; ashamed. But I think anger is a very normal Continue Reading
