This year I've decided to set a lower number for my reading goal, because I want to enjoy the books I'm reading instead of rushing through them just to check them off a list. I plan to read 50 books in 2023. If I read more, great; if not, no biggie. As I was filling out my new book planner - yes, I have the most awesome book planner this year - I wrote out a few more goals for myself when it comes to reading and books. 2022 Reading Recap and Five Star Favorites
With two hours and 45 minutes to spare, I met my 2022 reading goal! 75 books complete! The last week of December I finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt I didn't think I would enjoy a book where one of the main characters is an octopus. It's not a book I would typically choose, but it was such a popular pick in this year. This is a beautiful story about unexpected friendships and healing. I loved Marcellus (the Octopus)! Jennifer Reads {December 2022}
I'm sharing my December reads early because I've decided to take a little reading break from now until the new year. That doesn't mean I won't read, but I'm not going to stress out about finishing a certain number of books before December 31st. Here's the deal - I love to read. A Few Things To Get You in the Christmas Spirit
I'm currently listening to one of my favorite Christmas albums - The Garth Brooks album from 1992 - talk about a throwback. I have a Christmas candle burning, I'm wearing Christmas pajamas and the weather outside feels festive. In Michigan that's code for cold. I started a list earlier this week of things that are getting me in the Christmas spirit; I thought I'd share a few of those things today. First and foremost, I'm trying really hard to keep my focus on the true meaning of Continue Reading
Jennifer Reads {November 2022}
My family started the month with Covid. Somehow we escaped the nasty virus for almost three years, but then it caught up to us. Let's just say Covid stinks! I am 100% blaming Covid if I don't meet my 2022 reading goal. I was so tired I couldn't hold a book, much less focus on the words on the page. Being sick cost me some good reading days. Now that we're better, I'm reading all the holiday romcoms! Here's what I read in November... Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah Leila receives a Continue Reading
