I decided to break my year-long blogging sabbatical to share the books I read in 2020. To be honest, I didn't read near as much as I wanted to this year. I started the year strong, but by spring I had no motivation to read. When I did try, I was super distracted. I blame my reading dry spell on the pandemic. There was such an overload of information consuming my thoughts - COVID and its ever-changing nature, social distancing, whether or not to wear a mask. Fellow friends and avid Continue Reading
Reflecting on 2019…
I stumbled across a blog post the other day that offered 10 questions to help you reflect on 2019! I love stuff like this! As I prepare for a new decade, I want to pause and remember this year. It's been a year of growth. It's been hard at times, but overall, so, so good. What makes this year unforgettable? So many things: our annual trip to the beach, taking Jackson to Disney World, the amazing progress Jackson has made in so many areas, realizing what a privilege it is to homeschool Continue Reading
What I Read in 2019
Confession... I didn't read as many books as I would have liked to this year. The reason? I was busy homeschooling. I spent way too much time scrolling through social media. I thought I'd share a few of the holiday books I've read this season and a few of my favorites from years past! I'll start with one of my all-time favorite book series, which happens to be set on Nantucket during Christmas. The Winter Street Series ( 4 books) is by my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand. I loved Continue Reading
Four Books I Read In June
I had mixed feelings when public school ended and summer started. It meant the places we frequented as a homeschool family would now be crowded. I just wasn't sure how to do summer when we technically school year-round. I was a little reluctant going into summer, but now I am living it up. Summer for us has meant slower days and a much needed break from therapies. I didn't realize just how burnt out Jackson and I both were until we didn't have any place to be each morning. We are Continue Reading
