I spent most of the month with my nose buried in a book about Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I wanted to learn everything I possibly could about my son's disorder. After educating myself on CAS and feeling like my brain was about to explode with information, I snuck in a fun book. I only finished two books this month. It was so nice not to feel the pressure to read more than that. I read to learn and for enjoyment. I think those are the best reasons to pick up a book. 1. Speaking of Apraxia: Continue Reading
What the Hard Stuff Teaches Us…{Part 3}
There's just no getting around it. In this life, hard is going to happen. We'll all face situations and seasons that suck. But there's more to the story than our mess. The good news is, God's glory shines brightest in the dark. I recently came across this quote and fell in love with the meaning. I don't think we get exempt from the pain because we live good lives. What the Hard Stuff Teaches Us…{Part 1}
On Saturday I had the honor of speaking to a group of women in Kansas. I love sharing our story. I love digging deep into God's word and scattering hope to those who need it. I love watching Him take the hard parts of our lives and turning it into something magical; all for His glory! These words jumped off the page of Jesus Calling not long ago during my quiet time. When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer you petitions...the more you pray, the more answers you receive. Best of all, your faith is strengthened as you see how precisely I respond to your specific prayers. At the time, these words resonated with my heart because I had just watched God answer very detailed prayers for a friend facing a difficult Continue Reading
Fixing My Eyes…
I heard Jackson sing not long ago. Of course, it was music to my ears. King and Country's Fix My Eyes was on the radio and from the back seat I heard his little voice sing "oh oh oh oh oh..." What an anthem for this journey we're on. A reminder to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. To trust Him with Jackson's speech; because before a word is on his tongue, God knows it. (Psalm 139:4) Where we choose to place our focus is vital. Hebrews 12:2 says we should fix our eyes on Jesus, the Continue Reading
