Dear Adoptive Mama: You sit back and watch your child and a wave of emotion threatens to pull you under. A mixture of love and fear. You fight back tears and your heart aches in a way that only adoptive mamas know. Your child has a story that started long before you became part of it. Some of the details you know, many you don't. The story is full of hard stuff. Some things you will never quite comprehend. There are struggles and situations that are out of your control. You can't change Continue Reading
Created For Care Recap
I recently returned from Created for Care. It's a retreat for adoptive mamas, held outside of Atlanta each year. Last year my friend Kathleen and I went. I wasn't planning to go this year, but I changed my mind at the last minute. I decided to tag along with my friend Candice, who is currently waiting on a referral from Congo. She had never been and didn't really want to fly by herself, so I booked a flight and prayed a spot would open up for me since there was a waiting list. Thankfully Continue Reading
Five Minute Friday {Willing}
Most Fridays I end up distracted by a toddler and it takes longer than five minutes to write my Five Minute Friday post. But today I really only have five minutes. I've got to get to the airport. I'm thankful that adoption is part of our story. I'm praying that Jesus meets me in the south this weekend and fills me up Continue Reading

I know this, I believe this because, "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who Continue Reading
Two Years Ago….
His little fingers wrapped around mine for the first time. He's had me wrapped around his finger ever since. Happy Birthday Jackson Henry! I can't believe it's been two years since we received our Christmas miracle. You're an answer to so many prayers. You bring so much joy to our lives. As we celebrate your birthday I can't help but think of the emotions Mary must have felt when baby Jesus was placed in her arms. Luke 2:19 says, "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered Continue Reading
