This month I met my 2023 Reading Goal by finishing 75 books! I’ll keep reading until the end of the year to see how many more books I can add to my yearly total.
This month I started reading holiday books. I usually love holiday books, but this year I’m just struggling to read them. Maybe because they are all so similar? Kind of like Hallmark movies?
I have a few more Christmas reads on my Kindle. We’ll see if I finish them in December. I might need to move on to something different.
But regardless of what I’m reading, this is the time of year when I love to curl up with a blanket and read by the glow of the Christmas tree lights.
Here’s what I read in November…
The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
I fell in love with the characters in this book. It’s a story about books bringing unlikely people together, helping them through their grief and connecting them to a bigger story. The audio version really brought the characters to life! MY RATING: 5/5 STARS
An Anthology of Aquatic Life (A DK Smithsonian Book)
Jackson and I read this together each night before bed. He loves non-fiction books. This books is full of cool facts about aquatic animals, plants and ecosystems. The illustrations are wonderful. It was a great book to read and count as science! MY RATING: 4/5 STARS
My Ex-Mas Emergency by Jennifer Peel
Calista said she would never return to Aspen Lake – but her niece needs her and she’s determined to give her the best Christmas ever. She’ll just have to ignore the man who broke her heart – her niece’s uncle. Can Calista pull off the perfect Christmas for her grieving niece without falling for Tristan (again)? MY RATING: 4/5 STARS
Different, Not Less by Chloe Hayden
This book was written by an autistic woman and I enjoyed reading about autism from her perspective. She made me laugh out loud several times. Her sense of humor shined through the pages and I connected with her because of her love for the Titanic, which is just like my kiddo! MY RATING: 3/5 STARS
It Happened One Christmas by Chantel Guertin
Zoey travels to Canada to secure a filming permit for the holiday movie she’s directing. When she gets to Chelsea, the mayor crushes her dreams by denying her the permit. Determined to find a place to film her movie, Zoey takes off to a nearby town and finds herself stranded, with a winter storm fast approaching. Her only hope at getting to the nearby town is to hitch a ride with the grumpy (but hot) mayor; but the winter storm gets worse and Zoey and Ben find themselves stranded. MY RATING: 3/5 STARS
