I’m currently listening to one of my favorite Christmas albums – The Garth Brooks album from 1992 – talk about a throwback.
I have a Christmas candle burning, I’m wearing Christmas pajamas and the weather outside feels festive. In Michigan that’s code for cold.
I started a list earlier this week of things that are getting me in the Christmas spirit; I thought I’d share a few of those things today.
First and foremost, I’m trying really hard to keep my focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
Jesus.
I actually started my Advent study early this year because after two weeks of COVID I was feeling unsettled, especially about the upcoming holiday season.
I wrote in my journal: I just want Christ. I want contentment.
To keep my focus on Jesus this Christmas, I’m using a few Advent studies.

For me, this time of year is filled with Christmas music, reading holiday rom-coms, watching Christmas movies and wearing cozy pajamas.

I normally watch a lot of cheesy Hallmark movies, but I just haven’t been into them this year. However, I watched these new releases and loved them both. Candace Cameron Bure’s movie really touches on the true meaning of Christmas. The Noel Diary is a beautiful story about a man and woman who discover their lives are connected when the woman begins searching for her birthmother.
