It’s the time of year when I binge read as many seasonal rom-coms as I possibly can. I just can’t resist a good Hallmark-like story and the cute seasonal covers. Yes, the stories are all very similar. Yes, the characters live happily ever after. But these books make me happy.
This month I read Autumn Sky by Jenna Starly, Pumpkin Spice & Not So Nice by Becky Monson, A Pumpkin and a Patch by Jennifer Peel and Falling Inn Love by Erin Branscom.
Quick, cute reads to cuddle up with on a Fall day!
In between these quick reads I also read..
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
My friend Emily highly recommended this book and I absolutely loved it. It’s a Young Adult mystery/thriller that keeps readers guessing. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book. I loved the main character, Pip, who decides to research a five-year-old murder case for her senior capstone project. Reading about Pip’s investigation made me feel like I was a kid again reading Nancy Drew books!
Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter
If you’re looking for a book that will make you laugh-out-loud, this will do it! But full disclosure, it’s rated R! There’s a lot of language, but the banter between the two main characters is priceless. I absolutely loved this book. Izzy accidentally spills her pumpkin spice latte on a hottie at Starbucks. A PSL that didn’t actually belong to her – but some woman named Amy. She’s running late to her first day at her new job and is shocked to run into the same hottie on the elevator. He thinks she’s Amy. She rolls with it. The chemistry is intense. Then she discovers he’s her new boss.
When In Rome by Sarah Adams
A cute rom-com about a famous singer who escapes her life as a celebrity and finds herself in Rome, Kentucky. She crashes her car into a grumpy guy’s front yard. He agrees to let her stay with him until her car is fixed. She finds herself falling in love with the quaint little town and her grumpy roommate.
