Above us the tornado sirens blared and the sound of hail stones landed with a thunk.
But in our storm shelter we were safe.
The sweet sound of my son’s prayer drowned out the noise above us.
It was the sweetest moment watching him ask God to protect us from the storm; to help him not be scared.
Life is full of storms.
Life can be scary and loud.
Thankfully, all we have to do is look above – fix our eyes on Jesus – the one who calms all the storms.
This morning during my Bible Study, I was encouraged by these words from Scarlet Hiltibidal…
God uses every season and every circumstance to draw us closer to Himself. When life looks scary and faith feels hard, remember that God is sovereign as you fight to feel peace.
Some things in my life feel scary right now.
Big decisions need to be made.
I would like to choose comfort over courage.
But I can’t shake the feeling that maybe God is asking me to rise above my fear and choose faith instead.
Faith like a child.
Faith like Jackson displayed in the storm shelter last night.
Trust in a God who is sovereign and bigger than any storm or scary decision that needs to be made.
