It’s the first Friday of the New Year!
I thought I would share a few things I’m currently loving.
This Bible Study
My word for 2021 is Pursue. I am pursuing a deeper relationship with Jesus and more simplicity in all areas of my life. When I saw this study, I knew it would be perfect to kick off my quiet time for the new year. I am on day two and God is already meeting me on the pages.
Pursuing true simplicity is about pursuing Jesus.
This Quote
I hung these words by Ann Voskamp on my bathroom mirror. I can’t get them out of my mind.
I think they are such a great reminder as a mother and homeschool teacher. God has called me to be faithful and obedient and as I try to do that each day, I see how He is changing me to become more like Him.
This Workout
I made working out a priority in 2020 and I’m determined to keep it up in 2021. God has given me freedom from the number on the scale or the size of my clothes. After 38 years, I finally see how important exercise is to my physical and mental health. I am really loving MBF.
Family Learning Time
We started Our 50 States by Notgrass this week. The three of us cuddled up on the couch by the fire one evening to read all about Maine. We are planning to do the study together as a family. It will take one to two evenings a week and there are lots of family activities to complete together. This weekend we are making homemade blueberry muffins since wild blueberries grow in Maine.
Learning about Jesus and Science
As a homeschool mom I am always trying to find ways to make subjects engaging, while simplifying our school day. I decided we would incorporate science into our morning devotion time. We’ve been using Indescribable: 100 Devotions About God & Science. So far it’s working out well. We read the devotion and then we watch videos or look up more information on the science topic covered in the devotion. We discovered a great channel on YouTube called SciShow Kids.
This Water
Most people know I drink a lot of Dr Pepper. It’s my vice. But I discovered these flavored waters at Target over the summer and I love them! They are cheaper than Hint Water and my favorite flavors are the citrus and pineapple coconut.
