Confession… I didn’t read as many books as I would have liked to this year.
The reason?
I was busy homeschooling. I spent way too much time scrolling through social media. Sometimes reading becomes stressful instead of enjoyable because I’m Type A and feel crazy amounts of pressure to mark as many books off my list as possible.
Last night I sat and made a reading list for 2020.
Between the books waiting for me on my Kindle + the ones sitting in the drawers of my bedside table + the list of books I want to read that release next year, I have a lot of reading to do.
I am bringing my A reading game in 2020.
I will scroll through social media less. I will read before bed. I will relax and read for pleasure.
Even though I didn’t read as many books this year as I did last year, I still managed to read 25!
This year I was most inspired by homeschooling books since that’s the season I find myself in.

Oh, and one more reading related thing.
I purchased a Kindle Paperwhite and it’s been a game changer. I have no doubt it will help me read even more in 2002.
If I had my choice, I would pick a good old fashioned book any day. I had a Kindle Fire and I just didn’t enjoy reading on it. I started hearing all these amazing things about the Paperwhite and decided to treat myself to one when they were on sale Black Friday. I love it!
I love how small and light weight it is. I love that the pages resemble a good old-fashioned book. I love that there’s no glare. I love that if I drop it in the bathtub it will survive. I love that it has my books on it and nothing else. I love that I can throw it in my purse and take it with me. I love that the battery lasts forever.
Here’s to reading more in 2020!
