One thing I really love is a good Christmasy read during the month of December. There’s nothing better than cuddling up by the fireplace with a good book; tree lights twinkling.
I thought I’d share a few of the holiday books I’ve read this season and a few of my favorites from years past!
I’ll start with one of my all-time favorite book series, which happens to be set on Nantucket during Christmas.
The Winter Street Series ( 4 books) is by my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand. I loved following the Quinn family through all their ups and downs. The series would make a great gift for the reader in your life.
Elin Hilderbrand’s newest winter series is good, but I don’t love it as much as I loved The Winter Street Series. You can find the first two books of the Winter In Paradise series on Amazon. These books are good, but they don’t have the holiday magic that The Winter Street Series does.
Another book that I really loved last year was The Christmas Sisters, by Sarah Morgan. I could not put it down. It’s about three sisters who were adopted at a young age after their parents were killed in a tragic climbing accident. I loved each and every character and the entire storyline. I had never read anything by Sarah Morgan before, but I have read many of her books this year, including her newest one, which I am reading right now. It’s called A Wedding In December and so far I am loving it.
Here’s a few of the holiday books I’ve read this month…
Let It Snow By Nancy Thayer
I love Nancy Thayer books. They are easy reads that take place on Nantucket. This book is about a toy shop owner who’s trying to keep her island shop open after her scrooge of a landlord raises the rent. She just happens to fall in love with the Scrooge’s son.
Finding Christmas By Karen Schaler
This book is very Hallmark movie-like, which isn’t a big surprise since the author has written a few Hallmark movies. Christmas is everything to Emmie and she’s doing all she can to convince her boyfriend, Grant that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. She plans a special scavenger hunt for Grant, which will lead him to a special weekend in Christmas Pointe. There’s just one problem – the wrong guy follows the clues for the scavenger hunt!
Snowflakes Over Holly Cove By Lucy Coleman
After losing her Mum, Tia finds herself needing to get out of London so she can focus on her job as a lifestyle journalist. She finds herself staying in a cozy cottage called Holly Cove, where she begins working on a holiday feature about relationships. During her stay she meets Max, a man of few words, who lives alone in a cabin on the beach; Olwen, the housekeeper who soon becomes a friend and Nic, an attractive man with an interesting story. Her life is quickly intertwined with the residents of Caswell Bay and she must decide if a life is London is worth returning to.
I had better keep reading, because I have three additional holiday books waiting for me on my Kindle. Christmas Camp and Christmas Camp Wedding both by Karen Schaler and Once Again at the Falls By Becky Monson.
So there you have it…a long list of great holiday reads!
Tell me, what books should I add to my never-ending list?
