It’s Friday and tomorrow is my birthday! Woo hoo! I am a BIG fan of birthdays! They are meant to be celebrated!
Sticking with tradition, I will be giving away a few of my favorite things to one lucky reader! All you have to do is comment below and tell me what your current favorite things are! I will pick a winner next Wednesday and send them a surprise in the mail! How fun is that??
Happy Friday! Let me hear all about your favorite things.
Here are a few of my most recent favorites…
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
John talked me into watching this popular Amazon Prime show and I’m so glad I did. We don’t usually agree on the same TV shows, so it’s been nice to watch it together. I have fallen in love with Midge’s character and her wardrobe! I’m sad we’ve already blown through two seasons. Now we have to wait for season three to release later this year.
Just a warning – this show has a lot of foul language and a tad bit of nudity. We had to watch it after Jackson went to bed, but it is hilarious and it was like having mini date nights at home.
Breakfast in Paris (Well, sort of!)
I went to Vegas with my cousins earlier this month and we had the most amazing breakfast I’ve ever eaten! We ate at Mon Ami Gabi, which is at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower. It was cold, but we sat under the heaters on the patio, which overlooks the Bellagio fountains. These waffles were delicious! It was one of the highlights of the trip!
This Children’s Book
I love, love, love the message of this book! It has been such an encouragement to my monster truck loving kid who struggles so much with reading and other things so many of us take for granted. You can read more about it here.
This Book on Homeschooling
This book is challenging me and inspiring me to look at homeschool with a new set of eyes. It’s making me a little scared as I realize that I want to do homeschool in a way that is competently outside my comfort zone. I plan to share more about this book and dedicate a post entirely to it very soon! It’s a must read for any homeschool mama.
Hearing My Niece Say My Name
This little stinker decided to say my name a few days ago when she spotted my picture.
I got to hear her say, “Jenn Jenn” during one of our recent FaceTime chats! Talk about a proud Auntie Jenn!
Wal-Mart Grocery Pickup
It saved my life this week. Jackson woke up Monday night running a very high temperature and vomiting profusely. Of course it would happen the day John left for NYC for a week and the night before an impending ice storm. Around midnight, I grabbed the computer and placed an order for Sprite, Popsicles, Clorox Wipes and other sick day necessities. The next morning, trash can in hand, Jackson and I drove to Walmart for our goodies. So thankful for curbside delivery!
My Kid’s Sense of Humor
Despite the fact that he was so sick, Jackson’s sense of humor was still on fire.
Right after he got sick, he told me, “Mom, I think my flu shots gone!”
Later on around midnight…
Jackson: You lay by me?
Me: No, I don’t want You to throw up on me.
Jackson: Just hold my hand. My throw up is gone.
At least he gave me reasons to laugh while I cleaned up puke!
The Pink Drink
Have you tried this delicious drink from Starbucks? It tastes like a strawberry Starburst! So yummy! I had my first one when I was in Vegas. I have a feeling I’ll be drinking this frequently come summer time. So refreshing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet friend. Oh I need to try that drink! Sounds yummy! I also loved Mrs. Maisel. Right now I’m loving the new-to-us Pacifica we bought yesterday after our old minivan had a transmission issue we didn’t want to invest in fixing. xo
Jennifer says
Jackson would LOVE for me to get a minivan! He is obsessed with the automatic doors 😉 HA!

Happy Birthday to you my sweet friend! ❤️ I also love Mrs. Maisel! I have recently been watching an Australian weight loss show on Netflix when I work out called “Bringing Sexy Back” and it is so motivating! I have discovered the French Vanilla Cappucinno at 7-Eleven and it is my new favorite treat! I also have fallen in love with reading again and am currently loving the book my book club is reading called, “The Wife Between Us” I hope you have a fabulous day tomorrow, and don’t be surprised if I walk down later and beg for a banana pudding 🤣
Jennifer says
If our household hadn’t been filled with cooties, I would have totally shared some of my banana pudding. I see another order in the near future. It was amazing! I’m so glad you are finding time to read for enjoyment again! I love books! I need to read a fun one – I’ve been reading too many about homeschool and teaching kids who learn differently. I need some fun chick lit!
