Despite the fact that 2018 was challenging in many ways, it sure did fly by!
Like, weren’t we just at Disney World? Where did the year go?
It seems like just yesterday I was sharing my favorite things of 2017.
Even though 2018 brought challenges and heartache and a lot of change, it also brought some great memories.
Here are a few of my favorite things from 2018…
Our Beach Vacation
The beach is where we go to breath.
It’s Jackson’s happy place.
Our trip to Florida was desperately needed after a really challenging summer.
The week with my little family was by far the best week of 2018. We spent early mornings and evenings in the white sand. We searched for shells and rode the waves. We got updated family photos. We ate way too many donuts from The Donut Hole! I did not want to come home. Counting down the days until we go back.
Swimming With Dolphins
I marked a big item off my bucket list when we were in Florida.
I finally got to swim with dolphins and it was AMAZING!!!!
Watching Jackson Learn to Swim
Last summer Jackson finally learned to swim.
For a kid with Dyspraxia, he blew us all out of the water! I literally had to fight back tears several times as I watched him make his way through the water. On the last day of lessons (he took 3 weeks of them last summer), he finally overcame his fear and jumped off the diving board! We were ecstatic and he was hooked! After that first jump, he couldn’t get enough! Swimming is definitely his thing!
We can’t wait to start lessons back up with Coach Mary when it gets warmer.
Radiant Defense
I will admit I was a little skeptical about Rodan + Fields newest product.
I have worked so hard to not have to wear makeup, so I wasn’t sure I needed or wanted Radiant Defense.
But it’s not makeup – it’s a new category called “dermacosmedic.”
There are dermatological benefits to putting this tinted serum on your face and it’s amazing!
This product is the bomb!
My Photography Business (and my new branding!)
What started as Double J Photography in 2016 is now officially Jennifer Linck Photography.
I never dreamed that this little business would grow so much in just a few short years.
I love taking photos and I love specializing in affordable options for adoptive and special needs families.
I also LOVE the new look!
I can’t wait to capture my client’s memories in 2019!
BOOKS:
I already shared the books I read in 2018. You can see the full list here.
But a few of my top favorites were…
Sisters First
No One Ever Asked
The Christmas Sisters
Cancel The Wedding
Girl, Wash Your Face
One Day in December (I finished this in late December, after I published my reading list.)
TV SHOWS:
I am hooked on A Million Little Things!
I love the characters. I love the storylines. I cannot get enough.
Wednesday nights were my favorite in 2018.
I honestly think I like A Million Little Things more than This Is Us.
Thursday nights will be my jam in 2019!
I will get to watch my new favorite show right after an old favorite.
A Million Little Things will follow Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday nights.
Can it get any better than that?
MOVIES:
I loved A Star Is Born, but it also left me depressed for about three days. I’m not even kidding.
Bradley Cooper is my celebrity crush. Even with greasy hair he looked good. Lady Gaga blew me away with her performance. The music from the movie was phenomenal. I downloaded the soundtrack as soon as I left the theater.
I’m also going to list The Greatest Showman as one of my favorite movies in 2018, because I didn’t see it until January. The soundtrack was another one that I downloaded as soon as I got to the parking lot. It played on repeat for months!
