It’s easy to come up with a list of favorite things when it’s my most favorite time of the year – FALL!!!!
Yesterday we left speech therapy and drove down a street lined with trees that looked like they were on fire. The leaves were red and glorious and I could have stared at them all day. Leaves turning magnificent colors as the seasons change leave me speechless. I cannot get enough. I’m thankful for the bursts of Fall color I can find tucked here and there in Oklahoma.
I am even more excited about all the colors we’ll see this weekend when we head to Eureka Springs to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
I couldn’t let the week end without sharing some of my favorite things…Happy Friday!!!!
Being BOOed
We got home from speech therapy yesterday to find someone had BOOed us! What a fun surprise!
A pumpkin on our front porch was filled with all kinds of goodies. The sneaky gift-giver was aware of Jackson’s current love of bats. We are excited to pay the kind gesture forward and BOO some of our friends in the days leading up to Halloween.
10 Years Married
I thought a lot about what I wanted to say about such a milestone anniversary.
10 years.
We’ve fought with each other, we’ve fought for our marriage, we’ve fought over finances, we’ve fought our way through infertility and adoption, we’ve fought our way through special needs, we’ve fought school districts, we’ve fought insurance companies, we fight daily for our son.
Our marriage hasn’t been a fairy tale, it’s been a fight.
But there’s no one I’d rather do it with than John.
He wasn’t who I would have chosen for myself, but I look back and I can see that nobody else before him would have stayed in the ring and fought the battles head on the way he has.
I think it’s rare to have a husband who works as hard as he does to provide for our family and still comes home every night to do math lessons with our son.
The last ten years didn’t unfold like I thought they would, but they have laid a solid foundation.
We are united. We are fighters. We are best friends. We love a little boy so fiercely. We are a family.
And our story has been hard, but it’s ours and it’s overflowing with grace and so many amazing memories.
Elin Hilderbrand’s New Book
I just finished reading Winter in Paradise, the first book in Elin’s new winter trilogy. It. Was. Amazing!
I loved the characters, the storyline, the fact that it was set somewhere other than Nantucket. I loved it all.
I don’t love that I finished the book so quickly and I now have to wait an entire year before the second book releases.
Y’all, the ending is such a cliffhanger!
My New Photography Logo
I’ve known for a while that I needed to rebrand my photography business.
What started as Double J Photography is now officially Jennifer Linck Photography.
I never dreamed that this little business would grow so much in just a few short years.
I love taking photos and I love specializing in affordable options for adoptive and special needs families.
I also LOVE the new look!
Radiant Defense
I will admit I was a little skeptical about Rodan + Fields newest product.
I have worked so hard to not have to wear makeup, so I wasn’t sure I needed or wanted Radiant Defense.
But it’s not makeup – it’s a new category called “dermacosmedic.”
There are dermatological benefits to putting this tinted serum on your face and it’s amazing!
This product is going to be perfect for the winter months when I want a little more coverage and color.
A Million Little Things
I am hooked on this new show!
I love the characters. I love the storylines.
I cannot get enough.
Wednesday nights are my new favorite.
I think I love it even more than This Is Us.
My New Camera
My camera of six years crapped out on me right before my busiest time of the year.
A girl’s gotta have a camera, so guess what I got for my 10th wedding anniversary?
Some girls want diamonds, just give me a new Nikon.
It’s taken a bit to adjust to using my new camera. All the buttons are in the wrong place! I could change settings in my sleep with my old one. But I love the amazing photos it takes and I’m having fun getting used to it!
Here’s a few recent ones I’ve snapped of my kiddo. He’s such a good sport!
