It’s Friday! As you’re reading this, I am headed to my happy place! In less than 24 hours my toes will be in the powdered sugar sand of the Emerald Coast. I am giddy!
So is Jackson. Poor kid has been desperate to get to the beach all summer. When we decided to homeschool, we knew we could take our vacation after everyone else was back in school. It’s been a long summer waiting for this day. We are so ready to be in our most favorite place!
Here’s a few things that made my list of favorites this week…
Breakfast for Dinner
It rained all week at our house and I didn’t want to buy a bunch of groceries before our trip. So, we had breakfast for dinner three nights in a row! My husband makes the best french toast ever. I joke with him that it’s the reason why I married him.
Each night we ate cantaloupe with our breakfast. Have you tried Sugar Kiss Cantaloupes? They are the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. So, so sweet. You cannot just eat one piece! Delicious!
Caramel Apple Candle
I am a huge fan of Bath and Body Works candles. I have written about them numerous times. I have several Fall/Winter scents that I love. I decided to try the new caramel apple scent and it is incredible. This candle has been burning nonstop at my house this week. It has been the perfect pick me up on the dreary, rainy days. The smell is getting me pumped for my most favorite time of the year – FALL!!!! I will be purchasing a few more of these to get me through the season.
This Book
I just started this book and I’m already loving it so much. Special needs parenting can leave you physically, emotionally and spiritually drained. Many days you feel like you’re in survival mode (we’ve had a lot of those this summer). I don’t always get to sit down and spend an adequate amount of time in my Bible.
So far I’m finding this book to be real and raw and honest. The author bases her writing on God’s word and it’s bringing hope to my weary soul. I’m using it more like a Bible Study/ daily devotion. I’m reading one chapter a day and really letting the words and scriptures sink in. It’s exactly the book I need to read after the challenging summer we had and as we kick off a new homeschool year.
This T-Shirt
I’m a Texas girl, y’all! I had to have it!
You can check out my friend Paige’s cute boutique here.
1st Day of School Tradtions
I wrote all about how we made our first day of homeschool special earlier this week. You can read about some of the traditions we started here.
Destin, Florida
Because that’s where we’re headed and it’s my most favorite place. The beach is where we go to breath. It’s Jackson’s happy place. It’s desperately needed after the challenging summer we’ve had. I’m so looking forward to this week with my little family. I’m also looking forward to getting updated family photos.
