It’s been a while since I’ve written a Friday Favorites post, but today seemed like a good day to share some of my current favorites. Movies, books, clothes – you name it, it’s on my list!
The New Pooh Movie
I have always loved Winnie the Pooh. My nursery was decorated with the Silly Old Bear when I was a baby and my love for him grew as I got older. Last December I stood in line to see him at Disney World. I went to see Disney’s newest movie, Christopher Robin with my friend Stacy last weekend.
It was the best movie. So happy. So positive.
I loved the intricate detail of each character in the 100 Acre Wood.
Piglet was worried. Eyeore was grumpy. Tigger was bouncy and Rabbit was bossy.
And Winnie the Pooh was hungry.
I can’t wait for the movie to come out on DVD so I can watch it with Jackson.
I loved the movie so much, I bought the book at Target this week. It’s what I’m currently reading…
Audio Books
I’m not sure why I’m just now getting into audio books. I’ve been an avid reader for years, but have never listened to books. But I was so encouraged after reading, The Read-Aloud Family that I want to to listen to audio books with Jackson a regular basis. This books is definitely one of my favorite things from this week!
I downloaded a bunch of children’s books and we’ve been listening to them in the car. I plan to make listening to audio books part of our weekly commute to and from speech therapy. That’s two hours of book listening each week! Yes, please!
Girl, Wash Your Face
I’ve written about this book before, but it’s worth mentioning again.
IT. IS. SO. GOOD!
I recently attended the Made for More movie, which was produced by the author of Girl, Wash Your Face. It was so motivating that I wanted to read the book again. So guess what I did? I downloaded the audio book for FREE!!! I’ve been listening to when I’m alone in the car (which isn’t often) but I’m loving it just as much as I did the first time I read it!
These Jeans
Who hates jean shopping as much as I do?
Well let me just tell you that I have found the most perfect pair and I will be wearing them like crazy this Fall and Winter.
A friend from high school owns The Paisley Pearl Boutique and that’s where I snagged these amazing jeans!
Paige has lots of fun, cute clothes! Check out her website!
An Unexpected Summer Shower
Is there anything better than an unexpected rain shower in August? On Monday evening, out of nowhere it poured. The smell of rain was strong and the sun was still shining as the rain came down. Sun + rain = the most gorgeous rainbow!
Watching My Kid Swim
This summer Jackson finally learned to swim. For a kid with Dyspraxia, he blew us all out of the water! I literally had to fight back tears several times as I watched him make his way through the water. On the last day of lessons (he took 3 weeks of them this summer), he finally overcame his fear and jumped off the diving board! We were ecstatic and he was hooked! After that first jump, he couldn’t get enough! Swimming is definitely his thing!
This Photo
This might be my favorite photo from the week. Jackson wanted a mustache, so we used a wipe-off marker to fulfill his request. I love his imagination and I love this silly photo of my boy!
