It’s Friday! YAY!!!!
This weekend we’ll be having some special family time to celebrate Jackson’s Gotcha Day! He’s obsessed with staying at hotels (so he can swim), so we’re having a little staycation at a local hotel to celebrate his special day! I’m sure the celebration will also include pizza and ice-cream!
Happy Friday, friends!
Here’s a few of my favorite things from the past month!
Life of Fred Series
A fellow homeschool mama told me about this unique way to teach math! Since math is my least favorite subject and my brain works best with words and not numbers, I’m really looking forward to using this series to teach Jackson.
The books are written by a math professor and he teachers math through stories! You’re learning about math while learning about other subjects, too. It seems like the perfect fit for our family! I scored the entire elementary set for a crazy, good deal!
This Keyboard
I ordered this keyboard from Amazon and Jackson loves it! I plug it into my laptop and it’s ready to use. This weekend he typed his sight words for a little extra practice. I love the fun, bright colors! The keys are bigger than a standard keyboard and it’s perfect for little fingers learning how to type!
No One Ever Asked
This book was my favorite read in April. It might be one of my favorite books of 2018. It’s really that good!
The adoption storyline is spot on! As an adoptive mama, I found myself saying, yes, yes, yes! more than one time. This book takes an honest, gut-wrenching look at racism in the United States. It is so, so good. I highly recommend it!
Dollar Spot Homeschool Finds
The Dollar Spot at Target is a great place to find homeschool supplies. The other day I scored these two felt maps – one of the United States and one of the world! I also got some great books for $1 each – one about sharks, one about the solar system and one about dinosaurs.
The dollar spot is a great place to find small holiday themed erasers, which are great to use during math lessons.
Jackson Roller Skating
I took Jackson roller skating for the first time a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! I was a little worried about how it would go considering he has Dyspraxia, but he did so good!!!
He had a blast and I couldn’t keep from smiling as he rolled around the rink!
He keeps asking to go back!
Watermelon Lemonade & Waikiki Beach Coconut Candles
These two candles from Bath and Body Works are what I’m burning 24/7 at my house! Come on summer! Come on beach vacation. These candles are perfection!
THIS Photo of Jackson
I snapped this photo the other day while we were siting in the car at one of our favorite spots – Classic 50’s.
The reason why I love it so much is because it’s Jackson’s real smile!
Apraxia makes it hard for him to smile naturally. A lot of the time his smile looks forced.
Not on this day – he was all smiles and it was relaxed and natural and it’s my favorite!
Walmart Workout Shorts
I discovered these $8 shorts last summer and they are the best! Why spend a ton of money on the Nike Brand? These are just as good! I wear them all the time in the summer, especially when we’re at the beach! They are super comfortable and super affordable. My drawer is overflowing. The colors are endless!
