These words jumped off the page of Jesus Calling not long ago during my quiet time.
When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer you petitions…the more you pray, the more answers you receive. Best of all, your faith is strengthened as you see how precisely I respond to your specific prayers.
At the time, these words resonated with my heart because I had just watched God answer very detailed prayers for a friend facing a difficult situation. He gave her peace, the test results were good, there was hope.
Today, these words comfort me as I trust God with the uncertainty of what the future holds.
We found out earlier this week that our insurance only covers 60 therapy sessions a year. It’s only April and Jackson has already had 25 sessions. If we have to start occupational therapy, that will also go against the 60 yearly visits.
The thought of insurance not covering the therapy takes my breath away.
We pay a crazy amount each month just to have insurance and another $250 in copays.
Speech is not cheap; but Jackson has to have it if he’s going to overcome Apraxia.
Frequent and intense speech therapy is key.
The price tag for speech therapy would be astronomical if we didn’t have insurance.
It would be quite a financial strain, to say the least.
This is an area I’m going to have to trust God with; believing He’s got each and every detail figured out.
Matthew 6:34 says, Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
This is a verse I keep going back to; along with Proverbs 3:5.
Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don’t try and figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in all you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.
So that’s what I’m choosing to do.
Focusing on now; trusting God with what’s next.
