*** Each Friday in November, in honor of National Adoption Month, I will highlight a fundraising family on my blog! James 1:27 says, Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Maybe He hasn’t specifically called you to adopt, but as Christians we should help bear the financial burden faced by families adopting. Our family was blessed by many financial gifts as we stepped out in faith to grow our family through adoption. This month, let’s bless the socks off these adopting families! No amount is too small. Let’s help them become Forever Families!
This week I’d love to introduce you to the Jones Family…
Tell me a little bit about your family.
My name is Honey Jones, and I’ve been married to my husband Cody Jones for 12 years. We live in Dripping Springs, TX where my husband serves his state as a Texas Game Warden. I work part-time as an Early Childhood Educator in a wonderful Children’s Day Out program in Austin. We have two beautiful children, Kylie is 8 and Cage is 3. Both are extremely excited about having a new brother. They have been very hands on, helping to set up his room and of course praying for him daily.
Why did you decided to adopt?
We began our “Walk of Faith” in the summer of 2013, when I completed Jennie Allen’s “Anything” Bible Study. God really laid it on my heart that we were meant to expand our family by adoption. I wasn’t sure of a direction or even where to go with this feeling that weighed heavy on my heart. So, I began to pray about it, I asked God for direction, for guidance, for anything really. Six months later the answer came from my husband, very simply put, he shared with me his heart (mind you, I’d not shared with him my prayers, my heart, nothing! I’d been waiting for God to make my path clear.) So, 6 months after my heart felt called to adopt, my husband shared his thoughts with me on the way home from a family vacation. Summing it up, he felt a strong desire to expand our family through adoption and not only that, he felt our child would have special needs. So, there it was, the direction and answer to my 6 months of prayer. God sent his answers through my best friend, of course he did, right? So, where to go from there? We researched, we prayed, we talked to consultants and friends who had adopted. We recognized all the people God had placed in our path to help us on our journey. So, we applied to an agency and everything stalled. It was as if poof, we were stuck… We then decided to go ahead and have our home study done by a local agency. In doing so, we found that the local agency had all the same programs we had been looking into and decided to withdrawal our previous application and go with the agency close to home… So, on April 5 we officially submitted our application for the China program, seeing a great need for boys with special needs to find a forever home. We announced our intentions to all on Easter, and its been a fast moving train ever since! Our paperwork has been submitted to USCIS and we are awaiting approval so we can finish up our dossier…
Where are you adopting from? Where are you currently in the process?
China (He’s AMAZING – but due to rules we cannot share specifics of any sort)
How can people support your adoption? What current fundraisers are you doing?

Every person who donates to our adoption becomes a part of our story; a piece of our puzzle. For your gift of $20 your name and/or your family’s name will be written on the back of a puzzle piece (you can sponsor more than one piece). Once all of the pieces have names, we plan to put it in a double-sided frame and hang it in our home. This is our way of sharing with our son all who helped bring him home! We would be so honored if you were a part of bringing our son home! To sponsor a puzzle piece please click on the link below.
