I’ve been reminded lately that there is a purpose for our pain. Through conversations with friends, messages on Facebook, and my prayer list, God has shown me good comes from the trials and the valleys we walk through. It’s during the hard times that He prepares us to be His hands and feet to the world around us.
We become more compassionate.
We pray with all our might.
We are equipped to walk beside those who find themselves facing the hard stuff that we have overcome.
I’ve watched my mom, a cancer survivor, encourage others battling a daunting diagnosis.
I’ve prayed for a friend who’s feeling down. It wasn’t long ago that I was in her shoes.
John and I will soon have dinner with a couple who’s about to take their first steps on the adoption journey. We will answer all their questions. We will pray. We will walk the journey beside them.
We are not meant to walk through life alone – the storms or the sunshine that we find ourselves in.
Galatians 6:2 says, Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
God helps us through the hard stuff, so we can help others.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
Is there someone you can reach out to today? What has God brought you through so can be used to help someone else?

Jennifer,
How encouraging to read how you have allowed God to redeem your pain and you are encouraging others…I love the promise of God’s comfort so we can comfort others but first we need to need His comfort to experience it…Blessings to you this Easter…visiting from Holley’s

This entire post resonates with me. I am a softer, gentler person because of my husband’s cancer journey and my journey to recover from the stress of caregiving. Sometimes, it’s hard to understand the trials that we’re going through when we’re going through them–but you’re right–they absolutely equip us to help our fellow travelers!

My first time here and your tabs make me stick around 😉
I have recently been struck by pain and the good that comes out of it, because God is God. Painful but He brings us to a better side through it.

I loved the way you put this… “We are not meant to walk through life alone – the storms or the sunshine that we find ourselves in.” So true and very well said. Beautiful post. This really spoke to me as I do believe in this and am so grateful for those who have walked along side of me. I need to stop letting fear or believing I’m not good enough to keep me from doing this for others. Blessings to you.

Beth –
I’m so glad you were encouraged by this post. Sometimes it can be so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when we are facing deserts. It’s such a blessing to see how our experience in the desert can be a fresh drink of water to someone else.
Thanks for stopping by! I pray you will fling off the fear and encourage those around you! You have SO much to offer!
